The Ordering Process
The Ordering Process | #Photoshoot #Ordering
How do I order my photographs and when can I see them?
When we finish your photoshoot we will set an appointment to view the photos at our Murrieta studio, usually within 2-3 weeks after your photoshoot. All ordering is done at this time. As a courtesy, I release an online gallery for you to share with out of town family – once your order is placed, anyone can then order from this gallery, which is online for 2 weeks only. • For out of town clients, your images will be placed online for 2 weeks and we will then place your order via phone or skype.
During the editing process, I may choose to post a sneak peek on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
SOCIAL MEDIA (facebook, Instagram, Twitter) IMAGES will be posted after your order is placed; I post these on my photography page and tag you; you’re then free to use on Facebook as your profile pic, etc… but my logo cannot be cropped out and filters cannot be added. All images posted on social media are web sized (they will not be high enough quality to print). I may also create a blog post on my website that I will share on social media. All of the images can be shared on Pinterest, Instagram, Google+, and Twitter.
What is a minimum print order?
The minimum print order helps you determine your photography budget. Specialty and a la carte items are available in addition to each collection. Collections include professional quality prints and digital files, collections start at $250.
Note: The session fee does not include any prints or digital images unless otherwise noted, when scheduling a session please take note of the minimum print order requirement. Please view the session fee information to see what your minimum is, which is based on the session that you purchased.
How soon will I get my order?
Prints come in within a few days; canvases in about 2-3 weeks; albums 2-4 weeks, and announcements within a week. If I know you have multiple items, I will contact you when each item comes in and ask if you want to wait for the other items or come by to pickup the items that are in at the time.
Who does the editing and re-touches the photos ?
I edit and retouch all of my own images. Each of my sessions includes a set number of final images to choose from; these are final, ready to print images. All of these photos you see as “proofs” are chosen by me; edited to perfection & ready to order. * This means your skin will be flawless, color will be perfected, all artistic nuances will be applied before you see any of them.
Can I see ALL of my photographs?
I feel that when you hire me as your professional photographer, you feel confident in my work and part of my work is sifting through 300-400 photographs to pick the best images. I also want to make sure when you come to view the images you do not feel overwhelmed or feel that you don’t know where to start. If I have a certain pose and you have various facial expressions, I may keep a few of them in so that you can choose the photograph that you like best, but I try to narrow it down as much as I can so you don’t feel overwhelmed. Overall, it is my job and part of my artistic process to know which images are the best.
How long do you keep the images?
In the past, I told my clients that I do not get rid of any of the images, however over the past few years and after purchasing 6 or 7 external hard drives, I have had to change my process. Images that are purchased at the time of our ordering session are the ONLY images that are archived (for six months). Images that are not purchased do not get archived…. so yes, this means I delete them. I purge all my files within one year of a shoot. Hard drives fail, and although I back up my images on two different locations, I can never know for sure if your images will be around when you want them. I also do not have an unending supply of storage, especially with the size of the files.
Can I place my minimum order & buy more next year?
I require that all ordering be done at your in person viewing session. Only images that are purchased are archived for one year.
How can I get digital images?
Digital collections of the high resolution, non-watermarked images are available for purchase with most sessions. They will be delivered to you on a custom designed DVD. A limited copyright release for personal printing only is included with each file, but strictly prohibits altering the image in any way. *Please note that I can only guarantee the quality of the prints when I am controlling the process.
